Our Beginnings...

In 1980, Dolores and Leon Lowenthal embarked on a new adventure and opened Windmill Day School and Camp. At the time, it was Dee (or mom, or ya-ya!) and several infants in the "Toddle House." After many successful years, our family began to grow and take new shape. Miss Lisa, not yet a Silverstein, came back from college and jumped right in to the day to day operations. While working alongside brother, Mr. Noah, the original horse barn became the school building, and our old home became the camp kitchen and home to the Kindergarten Cafe. In the meantime, the youngest of the Lowenthal clan, Miss Rhe Rhe, has been around to help out both in classrooms and at summer camp. Along with WDC lifers including our Assistant Director Miss Pammy, Mr. Bobby, Miss Shar-Shar, Miss Sarah, Miss Streets, Miss Jen, Miss Dee Dee , Miss Dorko, and Miss Kim we are now one great big happy family!!
